HOW therapy can help you

Click below to learn more about the areas I commonly work with,

how they can show up, and how therapy may help.

Men's issues

How this can show up
Holding it together on the outside while feeling pressure, anger, shutdown, avoidance, disconnection, or uncertainty underneath.

How I understand it
Many men learn to manage by performing competence, staying useful, minimizing needs, or pushing through. These strategies can work for a long time, until they start costing too much.

How we might work with it
We look directly at the roles, pressures, and habits that have shaped how you respond. The work is practical, honest, and focused on building more choice in how you relate to yourself and others.

burnout & life stress

How this can show up
Exhaustion, irritability, resentment, loss of motivation, poor sleep, emotional flatness, avoidance, or feeling like life has become mostly obligation.

How I understand it
Burnout is often what happens when pressure, responsibility, and coping strategies become disconnected from recovery, meaning, and choice.

How we might work with it
We look at what you are carrying, what is no longer sustainable, and where your system is asking for change. The work focuses on boundaries, recovery, steadiness, and practical next steps.

Couples Therapy

How this can show up
The same fight repeating in different forms: criticism, defensiveness, withdrawal, pursuit, shutdown, resentment, or conversations that collapse before anything changes.

How I understand it
I do not see couples conflict as simply poor communication. Often, each person is protecting something important, but the protection itself becomes the problem.

How we might work with it
We slow the pattern down in the room, track what happens between you, and help each partner speak with more clarity, responsibility, and repair.

trauma/PTSD

How this can show up
Overwhelm, numbness, anger, anxiety, people-pleasing, avoidance, hypervigilance, shutdown, or feeling like your system reacts before you can choose.

How I understand it
Trauma is not just a memory of what happened. It is also the way your body, mind, and relationships adapted around threat, loss, instability, or helplessness.

How we might work with it
We do not rush the deepest material. We build stability, choice, and capacity first, then work carefully towards renewing your sense of purpose, with a new understanding of what life means.

complex mental health

How this can show up
A mix of concerns that do not fit neatly into one category: ADHD, anxiety, depression, trauma, complex trauma, grief, addiction, emotional intensity, mood instability, executive dysfunction, relationship strain, or difficulty functioning day to day.

How I understand it
Complex mental health is rarely one clean issue. It often involves overlapping patterns of stress, coping, diagnosis, environment, nervous system strain, relationships, and survival strategies.

How we might work with it
We start by organizing the chaos. We identify what needs attention first, what helps you stabilize, and what underlyings needs can be adressed before sustainable change can occur.

Identity, Culture & Life Adjustment

How this can show up
Feeling caught between cultures, roles, expectations, systems, identities, or major life changes. This may include immigration and adjustment stress, cultural disconnection, gender and sexuality concerns, experiences of marginalization, or the strain of trying to belong while staying connected to yourself.

How I understand it
These concerns are not just individual. They are shaped by family, culture, history, community, systems, safety, identity, and lived experience. I approach this work with cultural humility, curiosity, and respect for the parts of your life I may not fully know from the inside.

How we might work with it
We make space for the full context of your experience: what you are carrying, what has shaped you, what feels unsafe or unseen, and what kind of belonging, expression, or direction you are trying to build. Your unique background is a rich story.

Major Transitions

How this can show up
Feeling lost, unsettled, exposed, restless, stuck, or unsure who you are after a change in work, relationship, family, health, identity, or direction.

How I understand it
Transitions often disturb the roles and routines that made life feel understandable. They can bring grief, relief, fear, possibility, and old questions to the surface.

How we might work with it
We make space to sort what has changed, what still matters, and what kind of life you are trying to move toward. The work is about finding orientation, not forcing certainty.
